A number of different properties of filters and the particulates on them can be measured. Pore size distribution and permeability of filters, films and other sheet materials can be determined using the liquid displacement porosimetry method first introduced in the Coulter Porometer. The new Porometer provides these measurement and additional options such as liquid permeability and filter blockage rate. Image analysis of the particulates retained by a filter, as required by ISO 16232, can be carried out using the Particulate Filter Testing system, which can categorise objects by shape, size, colour and texture.
