Imaging provides a wide range of particle shape and morphology information which can be used to solve many problems in powder handling such as compactness, flowability, separation etc. Its increasing use reflects the need to understand processes in more detail to obtain more consistent products. We can provide different instruments for looking at suspended samples or dry powders.
Liquid samples
MTS Particle Image Analyser - PIA range with In Line Video Microscope (IVM)
In-line, on-line, in-situ analysis of the morphology of samples is provided by the MTS PIA system. The sensor can continuously record images of particles, even clear transparent crystals. Information on particle size, roughness, roundness, elongation, crystallinity and other parameters can be calculated through the extensive software.
Fluid Imaging Technologies - FlowCAM
In addition to images of particles, the FlowCAM can count and size particles as well as measuring fluorescence in samples such as seawater and ballast water. Available for laboratory or submersible measurements, the FlowCAM can be used for continuous monitoring of particles from several microns up to 1000 microns.
Clemex - PS3 System
Combines image analysis software with fully automated microscopy, with a routine lab unit and a reasearch unit available together with robotic sample handling if required. Particle shape, size and morphology measurements can be automated into standard routines to eliminate operator bias and fatigue. Existing microscope hardware can be used and automated if required or complete custom systems can be supplied. Watch the video at http://www.clemex.com/Products/PS3/ParticleSizingSystems.aspx
