Beckman Coulter SA 3100
For classical BET surface area measurements and pore size/volume measurements, the Beckman Coulter SA 3100 is ideal and can be used in both routine and research/development situations. A completely integrated, fully automated system allows true walk away operation. A touch sensitive screen guides the user through set up, and the built in 'learn' function optimises instrument operation for future similar samples. A wide range of adsorbate gases can be used. Simple surface area measurements or full adsorption/desorption isotherms can be obtained with calculation models such as BET, Langmuir, BJH and t-plots available for data analysis.
Acorn AreA
For the first time there is now a quick and easy way to measure surface area of particles in suspension, emulsions and colloids. The Acorn AreA uses NMR to measure the surface area of a wide range of particles in suspensions.
Liquid molecules in free solution have a different NMR relaxation time to those which are attached to the particle surface, the AreA measure the difference and calculates surface area . The technique makes no assumption about particle size or shape and does not require lengthy sample preparation and can measure most samples without the need for dilution. It is compact, easy to use and provides surface area measurements in less than 5 minutes.
Porometer 3G
Liquid displacement porometry is used in the Porometer 3G to measure through-pore samples such as filters, papers, porous plastics, thin films and other sheet materials. As well as bubble point and pore size distributions, permeability measurements of both air and liquid through samples can also be obtained.
